Every year, Inc. Magazine put together a list of the best performers, based on the last three years of operations. Between 2014 and 2016, Waiakea Water grew by 1,059.3 percent, a feat that has seen it beat thousands to be on this year’s list.
Waiakea Hawaiian Bottled Water is the brain-child of Emmons who founded the company in 2012. He was only 22 years old. He noted when his family was vacationing in Hawaii that the water there tasted better than most and it was in its purest form. He later went ahead to start this brand which has been growing by about 170 percent per year over the last three and a half years. The Waiakea springs water is sourced from the pristine snow peaks of Mauna Loa. As the rain water makes its way down the 14,000-feet volcanic rocks, it collects minerals that give it its unique alkaline taste. The calcium, magnesium, and potassium that it gathers along the way are a recipe for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
Waiakea partners with Pump Aid, a charity working towards the provision of clean drinking water to disadvantaged villages in Africa. To date, the partnership has lead to a donation of over 500 million liters of water.
